THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY
Anchor 1
The Circus

When I was 2 years old, my parents took me to my first circus and I was captivated. Fast forward to junior high when I got a unicycle for Christmas and discovered that yes, you actually can forget how to ride a bicycle. I love the circus, because it's a combination of athleticism and grace. I've taken a couple classes here and there, and lately have been into Flying Trapeze. Check out my video compiling some of the tricks I know!

Elvis Presley

I've always had an infatuation for Elvis. Whether it be because he's from Memphis, my grandpa knew him, or just the fact that he's a heartthrob, I have been an Elvis fan for quite some time. I even dressed as him for Halloween. Non-coincidentally, some of my favorite commercials feature modern covers of songs the king sang back in the day.

Rock Climbing

Rocks are fun. Rock climbing is more fun. This is seriously a great way to get anger out. It's a physical battle, but also a mental battle. Rock climbing taught me that a good self-pep talk can work wonders. I've climbed a few different indoor gyms, and hope to start climbing outside once the weather warms up!

Children's Music

It's no secret I love music, but one of my guilty pleasures is actually children's music. I interned with PBS my junior year of college, and grew up blasting various children's songs. I guess I never grew out of it, because I love babysitting my cousins and playing some of my favorite kid friendly tunes. Once, I made a stop motion music video to a fun gardening song by my favorite Kid's artist, Courtney Campbell. She even put it on her website!

Rocky Horror

My senior year of college bucket list is long but coming along nicely. I definitely wanted to participate in a shadow cast for Rocky Horror Picture Show, and am excited to be Columbia this semester!! It's a crazy new experience, and appeals to my theatre soul.

Mountains

I grew up primarily in Ohio. Flat, flat Ohio. When I toured JMU, I was stunned by the beauty of the mountains. It literally felt like we were driving through clouds at one point. I love the mountains, and try to get to them as often as possible. The Blue Ridge Mountains and Massanutten mountains are close to where I live, so I have ample opportunities to visit them. I also visited several mountains while in Europe, particularly a lovely mountain in Switzerland that I jumped off when I went hang-gliding. Whether skiing or hiking or camping, I have a newfound appreciation for the beautiful structure of mountains. (Sorry Ohio).

Travel

What else makes me happy? Travel, of course! I was born in Belgium and also studied abroad there my junior year of college. With its proximity to other countries, I have been very lucky to travel to several European countries. I was even in London the day they announced the Brexit vote. Within the United States, I love exploring Nashville and D.C. whenever I can!
